Your telegram No.1088 of 9th February. Kong Police. I assume that your ban on employment of Indians as policemen refers only to recruitment of new members, but does not repeat not prohibit return of former members now on leave, who have expectations of further service and prospect of pension.
2. Please telegraph if above assumption is correct and if so whether you will agree to Hong Kong Government sending officers to India to arrange for early return of all former members, whether Sikh or Muslim, who are (a) medically fit, (b) not known to be bad characters, (c) not due to retire on account of age, and (d) willing to return.
